Becky Lynch: Women Will Main Event More WrestleManias Than Men In Future

Becky Lynch thinks women will main event more WrestleManias than men in future.
In 2019, WWE made history by having the triple threat between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch go on last at WrestleMania 35. However, since then, only one women’s match has closed any night of WrestleMania, with Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair being the main event of WrestleMania Saturday in 2021. Yet, Becky Lynch has now given a prediction that the women may go on last more than the men in future.
Speaking with Stephanie McMahon on What’s Your Story?, Becky Lynch gave her view that women will main event WrestleManias more than men in future.
“I’m not throwing the lads under the bus. There’s some great dudes and there’s some great up and coming dudes. When I look at the future, I go, ‘I think the women are gonna be the main eventing more Manias than the dudes.’ Because I think the well of potential for the future, they’re just such colorful personalities. There’s a lot of care put in. And there’s a lot of thought put into people’s characters, I feel. There’s just a lot of life in that division. And there’s a lot of stories to be told, and we’re getting to tell them. And it’s awesome.”

In terms of what could’ve main evented WrestleMania since 2021, the Royal Rumble winners are a clear place to look. In particular, when Rhea Ripley emerged victorious in 2023, fans online were split as to whether ‘The Eradicator’ should’ve challenged Charlotte Flair in the main event of WrestleMania Saturday, a spot that was ultimately afforded to The Usos vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
This year, Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan found herself in the semi-main event of WrestleMania 42’s first night, marking five years without a women’s match going on last at the ‘Show Of Shows’. However, with WWE having an impressive women’s roster, it certainly wouldn’t be too surprising to see female stars back in the main event in the near future.
