The Man has discussed the need for non-title storylines and the importance of elevating everyone.

Becky Lynch is one of the most accomplished women in WWE history. She has held the SmackDown Women’s Title four times, its Raw equivalent twice, and even had a recent stint in NXT, which saw her become the developmental brand’s champion, too However, it appears as if it’s not all about gold for The Man.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, it was noted that Lynch hasn’t held a singles title in some time. On this, Becky was keen to emphasise the need for women’s storylines that don’t centre around championships.

“That’s what women’s wrestling needs. We should all be focused on the future of the industry. That’s bigger than me. I don’t need a title. The title doesn’t make me–I make the title. I have enough stories that I don’t need the title. NXT, that’s a place that does a great job with multiple stories with women that don’t all revolve around a title. That’s what our division needs, more stories that don’t revolve around a title,”

Lynch talked about how important it is for her to work with those who don’t get as much TV time and opportunities that she does, citing her feud with Xia Li as an example of attempting to elevate those around her.

“It’s doing the work when the work is hard and not always rewarding, but you’re elevating everyone around you. I headlined a WrestleMania. I have that experience. I headlined Raw, I headlined live events. When I came in, women didn’t even main-event live events on a consistent basis. So to get in the ring with Xia Li, who hadn’t even had a two-segment match to that point, it’s really important,”

As she has already reached WWE’s mountaintop, Becky is maintaining focus on helping the entire women’s division grow, showing her intention to provide hope to the other members of the locker room.

“That’s when I do my best work, when I’m overlooked and people doubt me. The division needs to grow. Now I can give hopes and dreams to other people, too. Driving the business forward, that’s what this is all about,”

Lynch is set to challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 40. It’s a match that featured two of the biggest stars that WWE’s women’s division has ever had, and many people are eagerly waiting to see who will come out on top.
