Bobby Fish was recently reported to have been close to exiting AEW as his contract was set to run out and not be renewed by the company.
Now according to Bryan Alvarez & Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the veteran is !now officially out of the company.
Fightful Select reported that the former NXT star’s deal was close to expiration and the likelihood of it being renewed was minimal. Fish was last seen on Dynamite when him, Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly dismantled the Undisputed Elite by attacking the Young Bucks. Since then he’s been off television while his partners have been nursing injuries.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez confirmed that he has left AEW.
“It looks like Bobby Fish is likely done. His AEW contract expires I believe today?”
– Bryan Alvarez
“That sounds early because he started in October, but I know you’re right. I mean its not probably. He’s done. It’s confirmed he’s done. Whatever the deal was, either he was not offered a renewal or he chose not to be renewed. He said things, he had complained on his podcast about not getting enough matches, so, yeah.”
– Dave Meltzer
Bobby Fish was never a name that got fans off their feet but he did the job whenever called upon. He had singles matches against the likes of Bryan Danielson and CM Punk and briefly reformed reDRagon with long-time partner Kyle O’Reilly. A return to WWE could happen with his recent comments on Triple H and the latter bringing back his NXT soldiers to the main roster since taking over the creative of WWE.
