Brian Cage Reveals He Wants To Be A Babyface In AEW

Brian Cage is extremely keen to be a babyface in AEW.
Sighing with the company in 2020, Brian Cage debuted in AEW alongside Taz, coming in as a surprise entrant in the Casino Ladder match at Double Or Nothing 2020. “The Machine” is a former FTW champion as well as a Ring of Honor Television and Six Man Tag Team Champion. However, throughout his entire time with the promotion, Cage has performed as a heel, something which he’s now seemingly grown tired of.
Speaking on the Smooth Vega Podcast, Cage spoke out about wanting to change from a heel to a babyface.
“I’ve wanted to be face. I actually love being face more than being heel. Most people like being heel more than face. I’ve been heel pretty much my entire time in AEW. I want to be face so bad”
-Brian Cage
A switch from heel to babyface would certainly open up new possibilities in AEW for Brian Cage. At present, the 42-year-old is a member of the Don Callis family, one of the top heel stables in the company. While the group has become known for continuously growing in members, names like Konosuke Takeshita and Andrade have broken away from the group in recent months to begin life as a babyface. For now, it remains to be seen as to whether Cage could be next in line for such a turn, but it sounds as if he’d welcome the opportunity.
Cage has been with AEW for over six years, and the star gave his view in a recent interview that the promotion’s in-ring work “smashes” that of WWE. You can read more on his comments here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Brian Cage’s career as soon as we hear more.
