Rey Mysterio Says “Never Say Never” To Another World Title Reign In WWE

Rey Mysterio believes he could have another world championship in his future.

At 51 years old, Rey Mysterio has over 35 years experience in the ring. He debuted in the wrestling business back in April 1989, at just age 14, going on to have an unforgettable career. Having worked for a myriad of other promotions including WCW and ECW, Mysterio headed to WWE in 2002, where he is a three-time former world champion and a Hall of Famer. Despite being a true veteran of the locker room, he hasn’t ruled out another run at the top level.

Speaking with Muscle Man Malcolm, Rey Mysterio gave his thoughts on a potential fourth world championship reign in the later stages of his career.

“You never know. Never say never. I think I’ve proven myself to still be able to compete, whoever they put in front of me. So I’m down to have another title run. Just put it in front of me and I’ll take advantage of it. Trust me.”

Mysterio has certainly proved he can still compete with the current crop of talent in WWE. The masked superstar recently challenged Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship on RAW back in August. Although Rey’s bid for the title was unsuccessful, he still showed he has what it takes to lerdorm at a championship level.

For now, it remains to be seen if Mysterio will get the chance to hold another world championship before he hangs up his boots, though many feel the San Diego native still has the gas in the tank to pull it off.

Along with regularly competing in WWE, Mysterio is also the acting general manager of AAA. Mysterio recently clashed with the Giant Omos at AAA’s TripleMania event.
