‘The American Dragon’ has revealed that his AEW contract is set to expire this summer.
Bryan Danielson has been vocal that his full-time wrestling career will be drawing to a close this year, and whilst he’s also made it clear that he still intends to wrestle for years to come on special occasions, he’s planning on checking off all of his dream matches before he hangs up the boots.
Speaking on Casual Conversations with The Wrestling Classic, Danielson revealed that competing at Wembley Stadium in London, England is the last major goal on his checklist, although he also revealed that his AEW contract is set to expire before All In 2024 at the historic venue.
“The big one is Wembley (that is left on my wrestling checklist). I wanna make it to Wembley. My contract actually expires before Wembley. But I wanna make it to Wembley… I’m not sure if I’ll make it, but one thing that would be a nice way to kind of close everything out for me is to do my last match as a full-time wrestler at WrestleDream at the Tacoma Dome — we’re doing the Tacoma Dome — because that’s the first wrestling show I ever saw. It was WWF and it was Ultimate Warrior versus Rick Rude in the main event and it’s the first time my sister ever saw a male butt cheek. My dad talked about it till the day he died. The Ultimate Warrior sunset flips Rick Rude, Rick Rude’s back and butt are facing directly towards us and then Ultimate Warrior pulls down his pants, we see his butt-cheeks and my sister’s cheeks go bright red. My dad howled about that until the day he died.”

Danielson made his return to AEW television during this past Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, aligning with FTR and Eddie Kingston as Team AEW, with the group set to take on The Elite inside Anarchy in the Arena at AEW Double or Nothing.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Bryan Danielson as soon as we hear more.
