Cain Velasquez was arrested after a shooting on Monday night. At first, not many details came out about the wild sounding situation in San Jose.
Now it seems we have a little more light on the situation. Mercury News Reported that Velasquez allegedly shot and injured the stepfather of Harry Eugene Goularte, 43. Goularte has been charged with molesting Velasquez’s relative at a home daycare in San Martin, California that is run by Goularte’s mother. Goularte was arraigned last Friday with one felony count of a lewd and lascivious act with a child under the age of 14. The judge granted Goularte a supervised release despite objections from the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
At around 3:15 p.m. Monday, Velasquez then allegedly opened fire at a car carrying Goularte, his stepfather, and at least one other person. The stepfather was hit once and is expected to survive. Velazquez was then arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently being held at the Santa Clara County Main Jail and is being held without bail.
