Cody Rhodes wants to be among the likes of John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Right now, there perhaps isn’t a bigger babyface star in all of wrestling than Cody Rhodes. His WrestleMania 40 title run was met with overwhelming joy by the majority of WWE fans, and he receives the loudest crowd reactions anywhere that the company travels to. Most viewers can’t get enough of ‘The American Nightmare’, and the current Undisputed WWE Champion now sets his sights on reaching the level of the company’s greatest legends.
Speaking on Cheap Heat, Cody discussed his goal of being the most profitable wrestler that WWE have ever had, which, of course, includes generating more for the company than the likes of Steve Austin and John Cena.
“A long-term goal for me is, I would like to be the most profitable talent that WWE has ever had. And I know who hangs in that group. You know, your Austin 3:16’s, your Hustle, Loyalty, Respect, your John Cena’s. I know what I have been doing. And I know the length that I have to keep doing this for this goal to become a reality”
-Cody Rhodes
Rhodes is already among WWE’s top merchandise sellers, and the fan support he continues to receive shows no sign of slowing down. While its an ambitious goal, it’ll certainly be a huge achievement should the 38-year-old be able to call himself the most profitable star in company history by the time his career is over.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Cody Rhodes’ WWE goals as soon as we hear more.
