On April 1st, PWInsider reported that former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre’s contract is currently within its final year, adding that both sides aren’t even close to agreeing on a new deal as of yet.
A new report from PWInsider Elite has now revealed that McIntyre has been pulled from tonight’s episode of Smackdown, as well as an autograph signing event, although it was not specified as to why this is the case.
“Drew McIntyre was scheduled to make an appearance during tonight’s WWE SmackDown, but it seems he has been removed from the lineup. In addition to that, McIntyre was also scheduled for a local autograph signing event at a Cricket Wireless store in the area, but he was pulled from that event as well.”

Per the report, the current Intercontinental Champion Gunther is set to take McIntyre’s place at the autograph signing. McIntyre last competed for WWE during Night 1 of WrestleMania 39, losing out to Gunther in a three-way that also involved Sheamus.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Drew McIntyre’s WWE absence, as well as his contract situation, as soon as we hear more.
