The two-time WWE Hall of Famer’s life is set to be dramatised by a fellow legend of the industry.
In 2012, WWE Superstar-turned-Hollywood megastar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, alongside Dany Garcia, founded Seven Bucks Productions, with the studio releasing titles such as ‘Baywatch’, ‘Black Adam’, and ‘Fighting with My Family’, depicting the rise of former WWE Divas Champion Paige, and it now appears as though the company are delving back into the world of professional wrestling.
TheWrap have now confirmed in an exclusive report that Seven Bucks Productions are set to produce a biopic based on the life and career of ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair.
“Seven Bucks Productions is developing a project based on the life of the legendary American professional wrestler Ric Flair, TheWrap can exclusively reveal.”

Per the report, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia will produce the project alongside Misher Films’ Kevin Misher, with whom the studio most recently collaborated with on the aforementioned ‘Fighting with My Family’.
In a statement regarding the project, Johnson shared his excitement at having the chance to tell the story of a man he claims was a hero to his younger self as he made his own way into professional wrestling.
“As a kid who grew up in professional wrestling, I idolized, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. He was a hero to me. And once I broke into the wrestling business and began to spill my own sweat and blood – my reverence for Ric turned to respect. Because I realized just how rare and impossible it is to disrupt the wrestling business, culture and truly change the game – and that’s exactly what Ric Flair did. This project is personal, and we can’t wait to tell his unbelievable story. As always, thank you for the house, Ric.”

Flair is currently a part of All Elite Wrestling and is set to accompany ‘The Icon’ Sting for his retirement match at AEW Revolution.
As for Johnson, on top of sharing the stories of legends of the wrestling business through his production company, he’s also recently made a return to WWE, with a recent heel turn seemingly setting up a potential tag team bout between himself and Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on The Rock’s Ric Flair biopic as soon as we hear more.
