AEW’s FTR are reportedly set to be involved with NJPW’s biggest show of the year, Wrestle Kingdom 17.

FTR are the current IWGP tag team champions, having recently defending the belts vs Jeff Cobb & Great O Khan on NJPW’s Battle Autumn show that took place this past Saturday. There has been a lot of talk about if it will be possible for AEW talent to appear on the Wrestle Kingdom show, and it seems like FTR are now the first AEW talent to be reported as expected to do so. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, FTR being on Wrestle Kingdom 17 is already confirmed:

“FTR is going to be at the Tokyo Dome, I got that confirmed. Defending the (IWGP Tag) Championships.“

– Dave Meltzer

Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler are expected to put their IWGP Tag Team Championships on the line vs the winner of the upcoming NJPW World Tag League. Participants include Aussie Open and Tetsuya Naito & SANADA, who are assumably the two favourites to win the tournament.

FTR have of course already faced off with Aussie Open this year, having recently defending their IWGP tag belts against them in London on the NJPW Royal Quest Show, having a match that was very highly praised by many. A second match between the two teams at the Tokyo Dome is certainly an exciting prospect.
