With both Gunther and Marcel Barthel (now known as Ludwig Kaiser) being called up to WWE Smackdown on April 8th of this year, it appears as though Fabian Aichner has split from Imperium.

The group formed in May of 2019 in NXT UK, with Alexander Wolfe (Axel Tischer) also serving the group before his contract with WWE expired in June of last year. Aichner now plies his trade on NXT alone, whilst his former stablemates continue to fly the flag of Imperium on the blue brand.

Speaking with Tom Campbell of Cultaholic, Gunther discussed the split, and argued that he and Kaiser have got to remain positive and focus on their new challenges.

“Obviously for (Aichner) and Ludwig it was a little bit of a rough few days because they worked so hard together for so many years and stuff like that, and now everybody has to go their own way a little bit. But you’ve got to look forward and stay positive about things. It’s a new challenge for Ludwig and me but also for Fabian, it’s going to be a new challenge for whatever he’s going to do going forward.”

Later in the interview, Gunther revealed that he hopes to see Aichner rejoin the group on Smackdown later down the line, although current plans for the former Imperium member are currently unknown.

We hope to see the group reunited as a trio in the future, and in the meantime look forward to seeing what Gunther and Kaiser have in store on WWE’s main roster.
