GUNTHER On Paul Heyman Being His WWE Manager: I Don’t Need Somebody In My Ear

GUNTHER shuts down a possible partnership with Paul Heyman.
Following his attack of Seth Rollins on the March 30 episode of RAW, GUNTHER revealed that Paul Heyman had asked him to take out the former WWE Champion to aid The Vision. This created a connection between the legendary manager and ‘The Ring General’, something which prompted fans to wonder whether the pairing could become a more consistent thing in future. However, it seems GUNTHER isn’t interested in being managed.
Speaking to No-Contest Wrestling, GUNTHER stated that he’s better off on his own without a manager in WWE.
“To be fully honest, it was very useful to have him there in that position. But those interactions in that time have been enough to make me realize that I’m better off on my own. I don’t need somebody in my ear. I always trusted my gut my whole career, and it was mostly the right decision. So I wouldn’t change that.”
Paul Heyman has managed many of WWE’s biggest names in his over two decades with the company, ranging from giants to more technical performs. But, through his time with Brock Lesnar and The Big Show, the advocate has shown he can excel when it comes to propelling monstrous athletes to sustained success.
Still, it seems GUNTHER isn’t interested in any support heading into his Undisputed WWE Championship match with Cody Rhodes this weekend. At Clash In Italy, the former two-time World Heavyweight Champion will look to win SmackDown’s top gold for the first time, though it’s worth noting ‘The American Nightmare’ already holds a victory over his challenger from Crown Jewel 2024.
