The WWE Intercontinental Champion is proud of his recent work on the microphone.
For the past 559 days and counting, GUNTHER has reigned as the dominant WWE Intercontinental Champion, and is now officially recognised as being the longest reigning champion in the title’s history. Whilst the Imperium leader’s in-ring work is often highlighted as being one of if not the best in the company, his performances on the microphone often go under the radar.
GUNTHER was able to show off his promo skills during his most recent feud with The Miz, and during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio’s Holiday Party, the 36-year-old expressed that he’s proud of his work on the mic and noted that he feels his program with The Miz was fantastic for himself.
“I was very proud of that and happy with it too (improvement in his promos). I feel like for anybody that speaks a different native language, it’s a little bit tricky to keep up a fluent dialogue in a different language because it has to go through the process of you gotta translate it in your head first and that gets better over time. But it’s still a process but yes, especially the program I had with Miz was fantastic for myself. I enjoy being in the ring with guys who have a similar style to me but I gotta say, I even more enjoy the challenge of being with somebody that is completely different and like, Miz is a polar opposite to what I am but, the guy’s a — he’s in the company for 20 years, he’s an absolute pro and I feel like maybe, besides the thing I did at the beginning with Sheamus, the program I had with Miz was like the thing that benefited me the most so far in my run.”

With WWE now building towards next month’s Royal Rumble PLE, many fans are beginning to wonder what the plans are for their favourite Superstars as we get on the Road to WrestleMania 40.
When asked who he’d like to face at WrestleMania 40, GUNTHER revealed that whilst he’s unsure as to whether this upcoming WrestleMania is the right time, he hopes to eventually step in the ring with Brock Lesnar to prove himself as being WWE’s true final boss.
