It’s officially WrestleMania season and fans have started to speculate over what they would like to see take place in California on the first weekend in April. We already know that Roman Reigns will be battling Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championships while Rhea Ripley will be challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title, but there are still a few championship debates yet to be settled.

As for Gunther and his Intercontinental Championship, it’s been rumoured for a couple of months that Brock Lesnar will be waiting for him at the ‘Show of Shows’, though this is looking increasingly unlikely. The Beast Incarnate has reignited his feud with Bobby Lashley in recent weeks with it looking like the two could complete their trilogy with a match at WrestleMania 39.

Speaking on the Rob Brown Show, ‘The Ring General’ addressed the speculation surrounding a possible showdown with Brock Lesnar, reassuring fans that he wants to face The Beast at some point in the future.

“Of course, I wanted to. Brock is a one in a millon guy, one in ten million. I always liked those guys that have stood out from the pack. I stopped watching wrestling for a while when I was a teenager and then I got back into it again when I started training. There was a time when Brock was young and he was wrestling Eddie (Guerrero) and Big Show and Kurt Angle, and the guy was fantastic. I always loved his matches and was very impressed with that and also with the recent years in WWE. I always thought it would a thing for wrestling and my style, that’s my end boss. I’ve been portrayed as the end boss in wrestling for a lot of guys, but I think Brock could be my end boss. I really hope the match goes down at some point.”

Gunther squared off with Brock during the men’s Royal Rumble match but their confrontation was ultimately short-lived. The Austrian star came second in the 30-man match with fans eagerly anticipating his match at WrestleMania, whoever that may be against.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on the planned WrestleMania 39 card as soon as we hear more.
