Jade Cargill is believed to be headed to WWE.

On Thursday, Fightful Select initially reported that Jade Cargill would be ‘finishing up’ with AEW, with the prevailing belief being that the 31-year-old would be heading to WWE. This comes after an Jade underwent an extended hiatus from the company after she dropped the TBS Championship to Kris Statlander at Double Or Nothing in May.

Cargill recently made her return to All Elite Wrestling on the most recent edition of Collision, confronting the woman who beat her just under four months ago and setting her sights on the title she held for 508 days. To the surprise of many, the match was made for Rampage this week, rather than saving it for a bigger stage such as the upcoming Grand Slam TV special.

To comment on this, Fightful Select went on to state that Cargill is finishing up with the company at a rapid pace, and, the September 13 tapings of Dynamite and Rampage may even be the end of her AEW spell.

“We’re told by AEW sources that this is because as things stand at this moment, Cargill is finishing up with AEW, with the September 13 tapings in Cincinnati possibly being her last appearance.”

To comment on Cargill’s AEW contract, PWInsider suggested that Jade’s current deal could even reach its expiry as soon as this week, and, despite initial talks over a new deal, no agreement was reached.

“The belief is that her current AEW deal expires as soon as this week and while there were discussions with Cargill about staying, nothing new was ever agreed to.”

To discuss how soon Jade may be able to make the switch to WWE, Fightful Select provided an update on the situation, in which WWE sources had indicated that she could defect ‘imminently’.

“Those that we’ve spoken to within WWE are of the belief that her deal may be structured in a way that could see her sign imminently.”

-Fightful Select

On top of this, Cargill’s gesture towards Statlander post-match, in which she hugged the current TBS champion with tears in her eyes, certainly indicates that she’s preparing for a new venture. Also, Fightful note that the many roster members approached Jade following Rampage, offering hugs and generally providing farewell messages to the star.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jade Cargill and her move to WWE as we hear more.
