Jay White Reportedly Not Expected To Be Out Of Action Long

Jay White is banged up, but he won’t be taking another long absence as a result.
Following AEW Redemption, some fans were concerned about the lack of “Switchblade” Jay White on TV. The Bang Bang Gang, the faction he heads up, were on AEW Dynamite and Collision in Detroit, but he was noticeable by his absence while the rest of his stable competed in the ring. Naturally, that led to much speculation about whether the double chain match with The Dogs at Redemption caused an injury, but it now seems that isn’t the case.
According to an update from PWInsider, it’s believed Jay White is a little banged up, though he’s not expected to be out long.
“For those who have asked about Jay White, it did appear he got banged up at the PPV last week but when we have asked, there was no indication he was expected out of action for any extended period.”

This will be help fans of “The Switchblade” to breathe a sigh of relief to fans, as Jay White hasn’t long returned from being sidelined for over a year due to injury. After multiple teases online, the New Zealander was finally able to return at this year’s Forbidden Door, and many are keeping their fingers crossed that he stays healthy enough to have a successful rest of 2026.
After the Bang Bang Gang had defeated the Death Riders, they were attacked by the losing team, who were joined by The Dogs for the post-match beatdown. Thankfully for White’s stable, the recently debuted Motor City Machine Guns made the save, leaving White with a ready-made program to get involved with when he’s back.
Alternatively, “Switchblade” could return to the fold as part of the new “Continental Cup” that was announced on Collision, giving competitors the chance to compete in a knockout tournament to eventually vie for the Continental Championship at Wembley Stadium. For now, though, what White does next remains to be seen.
Speaking of the Motor City Machine Guns’ AEW debut, it’s believed talent within the company were delighted to see the team join the ranks. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jay White’s status as soon as we hear more.
