Ludwig Kaiser has WWE Hall of Famer JBL’s support following his arrest.

On May 21, the Orange County Mugshots 2.0 Facebook page and Recently Booked noted that Ludwig Kaiser, real name Marcel Barthel, was arrested in Florida on a battery charge relating to an incident that allegedly occurred on April 23. Barthel was booked on May 20 at 2:37 p.m., with his bond set at $1,000.

Following news of Ludwig Kaiser’s arrest, JBL addressed the situation during the latest episode of Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard and made it clear that Kaiser has his full support.

“I’m on Kaiser’s side on this. The guy had no business saying anything to him. I get it, but to escalate this, Kaiser’s not the guy who ends up punching somebody. I don’t know who this douchbag was that called the cops, but screw this guy. And I want to make it clear I’m not passing judgment. I’ve seen enough altercations to know that both sides end up going a little bit away from the truth. The truth is somewhere in the middle. I am 100% behind Kaiser on this. Unequivocally I’m backing this guy. I think he’s a good guy. He’s not a hothead to me. If something happened here, the guy, I think, deserved it. So I don’t know what happened, but I am 100% backing Kaiser.”

Ludwig Kaiser currently performs as El Grande Americano for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and is set to face The Original El Grande Americano at AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30 in a mask vs. mask match.

A motion was filed on Thursday morning requesting that Ludwig Kaiser still be permitted to travel due to it being a requirement of his job, with court records showing that the state is not opposing the request.

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide have announced that El Grande Americano will have his Serenata Para later today, with the event having originally been scheduled for May 21 prior to Ludwig Kaiser’s arrest.
