It looks as though AEW’s creative team is could be getting a new addition.

With AEW Collision set to debut this Saturday, the company now has seven hours of weekly television to fill, and that’s without considering Ring of Honor. As a result, additional reinforcements on the creative side of things are likely to be beneficial.

Fightful Select are now reporting that Jimmy Jacobs is backstage at tonight’s AEW Dynamite taping in Washington, DC, with the belief being that he’ll be helping out in a creative capacity as a means to helping the company managing the increasing workload.

“Fightful Select has learned that longtime wrestler-turned-creative writer Jimmy Jacobs is backstage at AEW Dynamite today in Washington, DC. We’re told Jacobs was a surprise face popping up, and exchanged hugs and pleasantries with numerous people at the show. It was hinted to Fightful, but not outright confirmed that Jacobs would be helping out with creative as All Elite Wrestling has expanded with Collision debuting Saturday.”

In addition to Jacobs, Bryan Danielson has been taking on increasing levels of creative responsibility, whilst the hiring of Will Washington has also aided the company on the creative side of things.

Jacobs has been working for IMPACT Wrestling as an integral part of their creative team since November 2017, and whilst it’s currently unclear as to what his involvement with AEW means for his role in IMPACT, he appeared on a video on their official Twitter account as recently as today.

Prior to joining IMPACT Wrestling, Jacobs worked for WWE as a creative writer between March 2015 and October 2017, before being fired for taking a photo with members of Bullet Club during their “invasion” of Raw.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jimmy Jacobs joining AEW in a creative capacity as soon as we hear more.
