The pair of multi-time World Champions are
WWE are set to head to Lyon, France, this Saturday for their Backlash premium live event, with the card featuring Cody Rhodes’ first WWE Championship defence against AJ Styles, along with a number of other high-profile matchups.
The show could also be set for a few surprises, as in a new update posted to PWInsiderElite.com, Mike Johnson has confirmed that both John Cena and Charlotte Flair are in France for the upcoming PLE.
“Two major names are currently in France [sic] ahead of the Backlash: France PPV this Saturday, PWInsiderElite.com has confirmed – John Cena and Charlotte Flair.”

Cena was last seen on Night Two of WrestleMania 41, where he faced off with WrestleMania twenty-eight and twenty-nine opponent, ‘The Final Boss’, The Rock.
Flair has been out of in-ring action since August of 2023 due to her requiring knee surgery, with her last appearance on WWE programming coming in a loss to Asuka.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear as to whether the two are planned for the show and what that would entail, however Cena has made a number of appearances at WWE’s international events previously, and thus a cameo appearance seems likely.
