The former NXT Women’s Champion’s WWE return may not be as imminent as we initially thought.
This past Saturday, PWInsider reported that Kairi Sane (currently known as KAIRI in Japan) had agreed to terms with WWE for a return to the company. KAIRI later revealed in a press conference that she’d be taking an indefinite hiatus from wrestling at the end of September, with many fans taking this as confirmation of her return to the states.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that KAIRI is set to finish her last few matches in Japan before making the jump to WWE, with sources within Stardom believing that she’ll be making her WWE return in November.
“Kairi is returning here after she finishes up her last few matches in Japan. Those at Stardom believed her start date would be in November.”

KAIRI noted during her press conference that she intends to fulfil her announced dates with both Sendai Girls and All Japan Pro Wrestling, whilst also adding that she’s hopeful of facing a Stardom original in her final bout in her home promotion.
During her most recent spell in Japan, KAIRI wrestled primarily for Stardom and New Japan Pro Wrestling, having reigns as both the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion and as one-third of the Artist of Stardom Champions alongside Natsupoi and Saori Anou, although she was officially recognised as a freelancer.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kairi Sane’s WWE return as soon as we hear more.
