AEW look set to beat WWE to yet another signing.

In early January, PWInsider reported that former NWA World Women’s Champion Kamille had been offered a WWE deal, with the Wrestling Observer adding that Kamille was expected to land in NXT specifically.

This no longer appears to be the case, however, as PWInsider Elite are now reporting that discussions between WWE and Kamille are not moving forward.

“We can confirm that at this time, she is no longer expected to be WWE-bound. While there had been interest (and
according to one WWE source in the past, had been offered an NXT deal), PWInsiderElite.com can confirm those
discussions are not moving forward.”

The report additionally notes that Kamille has been in “deep discussions” with AEW, with the promotion currently seen as an ideal destination due to her being able to commit to additional acting work, something she now has representation to enable her to pursue.

“We are told Kamille has been in “deep discussions” with AEW, and that promotion has been seen as a stronger destination for her as it would allow her to pursue another major personal goal moving forward, additional acting work. We are told that after Kamille’s experience working on the forthcoming Mildred Burke biography film, where she will partray former NWA and AWA Women’s Champion June Byers, she’s been bitten by the acting bug in a major way and wants to pursue additional film and television work. We are also told Kamille now has representation to assist her in that area as well.”

Kamille departed NWA at the beginning of the year following the expiration of her contract after opting out of an additional year. On January 18th, Fightful reported that Kamille was spotted backstage at that week’s AEW Dynamite taping, and thus, it appears likely that she’ll be All Elite sooner rather than later.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Kamille as soon as we hear more.
