On February 1st earlier this month, former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi’s NJPW contract came to an end, rendering the 40-year-old a free agent. Since then, Ibushi has been announced has been announced for a number of GCW dates over WrestleMania weekend, however he’s yet to officially sign with another promotion.
Dark Puroresu Flowsion has now provided an update on the possibility of Kota Ibushi landing in WWE, with the NJPW star stating the conditions in which he would choose to sign with the company.
“Kota Ibushi has told me. If the WWE allowed him to also train & create the next generation of wrestlers at the performance center. Among having some high profile matches. He would most certainly work with WWE.”
-Kota Ibushi
Ibushi previously competed for WWE as a part of the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic, and then later took part in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic alongside TJP, although he never ended up signing with the company at the time.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Kota Ibushi as soon as we hear more.
