Malakai Black To Return To PROGRESS Wrestling In September

Malakai Black has been announced for PROGRESS Wrestling appearances in September.
Back in April, shortly after WrestleMania 42, Aleister Black was among those unfortunately released from WWE. Those affected were under a non-compete clause until July 23, but attention is now turning to what those who departed the company will do next. With some released talent having already made their next move, we now know more about some of Black’s future bookings.
Via their X account, PROGRESS announced that Malakai Black will be competing their The Odyssey Tour, which is a series of shows on 4, 5, and 6 September.
The tour dates are as follows:
• September 4 from Edinburgh Corn Exchange
• September 5 from 02 Academy in Leeds
• September 6 from 02 Ritz in Manchester
Black, who is a former NXT and AEW World Trios Champion, has not competed in PROGRESS in a decade. He was a regular there back in 2015-2016 wrestling as “Tommy End”. During his original run with the company, the star had memorable matches against the likes of Chris Hero, Zack Gibson and others.
PROGRESS Wrestling itself recently came under new ownership as former WWE and NXT stars Big Damo and Nikki Cross purchased the company back in May. It remains to be seen who Black’s opponents will be for his return to Progress but his return to the company will be a welcome one for their fans.
While they weren’t part of the same batch of releases, fans are also waiting to see what Austin Creed and Kofi do next. Similarly to Black, the pair recently had a future booking officially announced. You can read more about that here.
As always we will aim to bring you further updates on Malakai Black’s return to Progress as soon as we hear more.
