Matt Cardona is sidelined.

Being a free agent since his WWE release in 2020, Matt Cardona has become a key figure on the independent scene. Although he wrestles mostly for GCW, the 38-year-old has appearances for Impact Wrestling, DDT, and REVOLVER under his belt, and you never quite know where he will appear next. However, unfortunately, it appears as if he’ll have to spend some time away from the squared circle going forward.

Via a post on his X account, Sean Ross Sapp has reported that Cardona has been telling promoters that he has suffered a torn pec and is in need of surgery.

Prior to his injury, Cardona was able to tick off a dream match of his, as he took on Adam Copeland on AEW Collision as part of an open challenge for the TNT Championship. We wish Cardona a speedy recovery and hope he’s back in the ring soon.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Matt Cardona’s injury status as soon as we hear more.
