Matt Jackson Says He’s Inspired By Kenny Omega Winning The AEW World Championship Again
Matt Jackson was pleased to see Kenny Omega capture the AEW World Title.
Both Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks have been part of All Elite Wrestling since day one, with all three playing major roles in the promotion’s success over the years. Omega recaptured the AEW Men’s World Championship at Beach Break two weeks ago, defeating MJF to reclaim the title after a gap of nearly 1,700 days.
Speaking to Justin Barrasso, Matt Jackson reflected on what Omega’s championship victory meant to him, highlighting the battles his long-time friend has overcome to reach this point.
“It was great to see Big Match Kenny do what he does best. He creates an atmosphere that no other current wrestler can. When he’s in his element, there’s this inevitable feeling that you’re about to watch something that’ll be remembered forever. I was just super happy for him. He’s been through so much, and to see him come back from a near-death experience to be at the top of the mountain again, it was truly inspiring.”

Omega’s championship victory has been met with a positive response from many fans, with AEW Dynamite also seeing an uptick in viewership over the past two weeks. Looking ahead to AEW Redemption, Omega is set to make his first AEW Men’s World Championship defence against Kevin Knight, while The Young Bucks will face Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay.
That is particularly significant, as Ospreay won the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament to earn the right to challenge Omega for the AEW Men’s World Championship at All In: London at Wembley Stadium. Meanwhile, The Young Bucks’ Wembley Stadium match could see them challenge Christian Cage and Adam Copeland for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
Alternatively, the Wembley Stadium match could feature a dream encounter between two of the most recognisable tag teams in wrestling history. There have been long-standing rumours that The New Day and the Motor City Machine Guns could be AEW-bound, and should that become a reality, fans may not have to wait long to see either team collide with All Elite Wrestling’s EVPs.
