Live sports are heading to MAX amid rumours that AEW could soon land on the streaming service.
Earlier this month, Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast stated that he’s confident that AEW will eventually end up on HBO’s streaming service, MAX, adding that monthly pay-per-views are also something he’s expecting to see.
An interesting development has since occurred since said report, as Warner Bros. Discovery have now announced that MAX is set to add a live sports tier on October 5. The new tier will be called the Bleacher Report Sports Add-On (or B/R Sports) and be available for $10 per month on top of MAX’s subscription fee, with a free promotional period running through October.
WBD Sports currently has rights to MLB, NBA, and NHL games, as well as NCAA March Madness basketball, U.S. National Team soccer, and WBD’s own golf brand, The Match, and thus the service are set to offer a substantial amount of content as part of the additional tier.
Sports Business Journal reported shortly after the official announcement that AEW aren’t currently set to feature on the aforementioned live sports tier.
“Currently, AEW will not be part of the Bleacher Report Sports Add-On tier.”

Despite this, with AEW and WBD being partners, and the company’s programming airing across TBS, TNT, and Bleacher Report, it’ll be worth keeping an eye on whether the promotion will eventually make its way onto MAX, with AEW President Tony Khan having previously made it known that he’s hopeful of that being the case down the line.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on MAX’s new live sports tier and what this could mean for the future of AEW as soon as we hear more.
