Mercedes Moné Says Being In AEW Has Been “So Rewarding For Me”

Mercedes Moné feels she’s been living her best wrestling life in All Elite Wrestling.
Since joining AEW in 2024, Mercedes Moné has become a central figure in the company. She has held the record for the longest TBS Championship reign, won the Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament in back-to-back years, and will compete in the women’s main event at All In: London for the second consecutive year.
Despite some calls online for her to leave AEW, Moné told the Daily Star that she has never felt more free than she does in AEW.
“It’s been amazing. It’s been so rewarding for me, and just kind of freeing. I’ve always wanted that feeling of feeling free, and I feel like this has been the best I’ve ever been able to perform because I have that capability and that ability to have that freedom. Whether that’s putting matches together and performing differently, or having a different mindset, or not having people tell you ‘no,’ or being scared to tell something and then you will be told no. It’s just a freedom. I’m very happy to be here, and I hope that shows in my work. But yeah, I think it shows in my matches how free I feel and how great I feel in AEW.”

Her freedom extends beyond her work in AEW, with the company’s openness to wrestlers competing elsewhere allowing Moné to embark on a title-collecting run throughout 2025. She captured 13 championships across AEW, Ring of Honor, CMLL, RevPro, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and several independent promotions.
Soon, Moné will challenge Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women’s World Championship, the one major AEW singles title to have eluded her. Should she win the championship, she would have no shortage of potential challengers, including Bayley, should the current WWE star eventually make the move to AEW. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Mercedes Moné as soon as we hear more.
