Michael Cole discusses WWE commentary under the new regime and has high praise for Corey Graves.

For over two decades, Michael Cole has been the lead voice of WWE television, with appreciation for the commentator growing steadily since Triple H took charge of WWE in 2022.

Someone who’s worked closely with Cole in recent years is wrestler-turned-commentator Corey Graves, and in a recent interview with Chris Novak of Awful Announcing, Cole praised Graves for stepping up under the new regime, which he described as looser than years gone by.

“It’s a different world. Corey came in at a good time. Under the new regime now, things are looser. The direction’s different. There’s a lot more trust in commentators now than there was before. We are having the opportunity to be ourselves. Open up, develop character, call pro wrestling, sports entertainment, the way we want to. Corey was able to jump in under this new regime, and it was the perfect chance to make a switch. This was the time to do it.”

Cole currenly serves as the leading voice on Monday Night RAW alongside Pat McAfee, whilst Graves is joined by Wade Barrett on Friday Night SmackDown.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE’s commentary team as soon as we hear more.
