Mike Bailey has revealed that 2024 is a contract year for him.

In 2021, ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey officially committed his future to Impact Wrestling, putting pen to paper on a deal allowing him to compete in the US for the first time since 2016 after previously having visa issues in the country. He has become a key member of the roster, but it now appears as if he’ll soon have to enter talks with the company over his contract status.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Mike Bailey has revealed that his contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire this year, outlining his intention to make the most of every opportunity.

I’m making the most out of every opportunity given, This is my contract year. I’m doing everything I can to make the most of my time. I’m glad I’m in a tag team right now–Speedball Mountain–with Trent Seven. I want those tag titles. I want every title.

The 33-year-old would then reflect on his career as a whole, saying that he hasn’t accomplished everything he wants to so far.

I feel like I’ve had breakthrough moments my entire career. You still see the biggest stars in wrestling having breakthrough moments. Nic Nemeth is a fantastic example. He was doing one thing for many, many years, and now he’s doing something completely different. I haven’t accomplished anywhere near what I want to do. While I love what I’m doing right now–it’s very fulfilling–it’s only one-tenth of what I plan on doing.

Bailey spent 110 days as the X-Division Champion across the latter half of 2022, and, while the exact date of his contract expiry is currently unknown, he would undoubtedly be a huge miss for TNA should be decide to depart the company when his current deal is up later this year.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Mike Bailey’s contract status as soon as we hear more.
