Minoru Suzuki captured ROH’s Television Title at the recent Supercard of Honor XV event, although it was ultimately the returning Samoa Joe who grabbed the headlines on the night.
Looking to capitalise on the success of ROH’s return, Tony Khan announced what many consider to be a dream match for the 13th of April edition of AEW Dynamite, pitting Suzuki against Joe in an ROH TV Title match.
This will be Suzuki’s first title defence since dethroning Rhett Titus for the gold at Supercard of Honor on April 1st.
Wrestling fans across the world cannot wait for the titanic clash, but the ‘King of Pro Wrestling’ seemingly isn’t fazed by the prospect of facing the ‘Samoan Submission Machine’, sharing his thoughts on the upcoming bout with Sports Illustrated.
“Many fans think this matchup is very special, but for me, I have to stay true to myself, I am here to hurt people. The opponent truly does not matter. This week, I will make Samoa Joe suffer.”

Both men have garnered a reputation for being two of the hardest hitting in-ring workers the world over, and the Suzuki-Gun leader is certainly confident in his ability heading into the match. He goes on to question however whether Joe has what it takes to match his physicality.
“People are brave until they step into the ring with me,. Hopefully, Samoa Joe is not scared. I don’t know him well, but he will know me by the time we are done.“

The man referred to by fans as New Japan’s “Murder Grandpa” closed by sending a chilling message to his first challenger.
“I hurt people, that is what I do. Samoa Joe is going to feel a lot of pain.”

We certainly can’t wait for tomorrow’s match between the pair, and if Suzuki’s comments are anything to go by, fans can expect a war between two of the best.
There is the possibility of a Jay Lethal interference however, as the former ROH Champion indicated that he’d have a present for Samoa Joe on this week’s episode.
