Ahead of tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite, MJF’s scathing work-shoot promo directed at the AEW fans, talent and President Tony Khan from last week’s episode is still fresh in the mind of many.

The promo followed a decisive defeat to Wardlow at the previous Sunday’s Double or Nothing PPV, with MJF’s appearance at DoN coming as a surprise to many, following his no-show at a Fanfest event, along with a flight in his name being booked out of Las Vegas.

Fightful Select have now provided yet another update on MJF’s situation, revealing that the AEW star did in fact meet with Tony Khan at Rampage on the day before the meet & greet and the flight reportedly being booked, although they were unable to confirm how this discussion played out.

Following the June 1st edition of Dynamite at The Forum, Warner Bros. Discovery hosted a party for AEW, signifying the company’s intent to continue being the home of AEW even after the completion of the merger.

Though many of the top AEW stars were reportedly present at this party, Fightful moved on to note that MJF was noticably absent from the event, with The Pinnacle leader also missing the following Friday’s Rampage in Ontario.

“MJF was not present at the WarnerMedia/Discovery/AEW party after the June 1 Dynamite, which featured many of the top stars within the company. We’re told that MJF was not at Rampage in Ontario two days later, and did not travel with All Elite Wrestling after Dynamite. We’ve heard from numerous sources that MJF remained in Los Angeles for several days, which lends some credibility to another rumor we’ve since confirmed.”

Perhaps the most notable revelation stemming from Fightful’s recent report is the indication that MFJ appears to have his eyes on a potential forray into the world of Hollywood acting. As Fightful note, MJF previously discussed this during his interview with Ariel Helwani, although there how appears to be a growing belief that Friedman is looking to explore this route.

“According to his friends, as well as other consistent Fightful sources, MJF has been speaking more about the possibility of getting into acting.“

“He also claimed to have recorded a voiceover for an animated role that comes out next year. People within AEW have heard that MJF had meetings set up last week in LA later in the week to possibly explore that route. Many have heard this mentioned as far back as March.”

As of writing, MJF has not been announced for tonight’s AEW Dynamite, with all references to him across AEW’s website and official online store having been removed. Time will tell as to where the ongoing MJF/AEW contract disputes will lead next, and as always we’ll continue to provide any updates regarding the situation as soon as we hear more.
