AEW’s recent injury crisis is believed to have caused a domino effect for the company’s plans.

As of writing, AEW currently have a number of their top stars absent due to injury, with the likes of Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, Jamie Hayter currently on the shelf, whilst former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley has only recently returned to action.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that, due to the aforementioned injuries, AEW have needed to develop multiple new storylines, with a major domino effect believed to have been caused.

“The injury situation has greatly affected the booking as so many plans are made and have to be changed and when they are changed, it’s start from scratch and develop new plans, especially since Danielson, Cole and Jon Moxley were all figured into key things and so much had to be changed which created a domino effect on all the plans.”

Adam Cole’s injury in particular is likely to have led to major changes, with Cole being directly involved with MJF, who currently reigns as the AEW World Champion.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the changes being made to AEW creative as soon as we hear more.
