Earlier this year, top New Japan Pro Wrestling talent Kota Ibushi made a series of tweets seemingly aimed at NJPW higher ups, as well as a number of talents he believed needed to be called out on their actions. Since making these remarks, the company have addressed the situation, although Ibushi is yet to return to in-ring action, with more tweets having been made regarding these issues since NJPW’s official comments.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now provided an update on Kota Ibushi’s NJPW status, noting that New Japan talent are not currently expecting Ibushi to return to the company, with things remaining quiet on the side of the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

“For whatever this is worth, the talent believes that Kota Ibushi is not coming back. We haven’t heard anything from the Ibushi side on this.”

Whether Ibushi chooses to continues his in-ring career outside of NJPW remains to be seen, although there’s always a chance that a resolution will be found between both sides. Either way, Ibushi is undoubtably one of the world’s best professional wrestlers, and thus we hope we’ll be able to see him showcase his talents once again soon, regardless of where that may be.
