Persephone has notched the latest defence of her title.

CMLL Women’s World Champion Persephone successfully retained her title against STARDOM’s AZM in the main event of Sunday’s CMLL Domingo Familiar from Arena Mexico.

The El Paso native had a hard fought clash with STARDOM’s high speed savant and even had to weather a few moments where she was in danger of losing her title. Luckily, however, Persephone was able to fold AZM with a devastating Crucifix Powerbomb to earn the win in the massive title defense.

With this latest victory, Persephone now has six successful defenses with the belt, and her reign will live past the 229 days it rests at as of writing. AZM is the second Japanese wrestler she’s had to defend against, the first being AZM’s Neo Genesis compatriot Starlight Kid last month.

Preceding this main event clash, AZM’s 02line tag team partner Miyu Amasaki teamed with Emersyn Jayne to beat India Sioux and Sanely, STARDOM’s Momo Watanabe defeated Reyna Isis, and Angel de Oro and Niebla Roja from Los Hermanos Chavez beat Guerrero Maya Jr. and Xelhua from La Fuerza Poblana to keep their CMLL World Tag Team Championships. This latest defense is the 33rd defense for the dominant duo.
