One of AEW’s longest-serving talents is departing the company.

QT Marshall took to social media last night to announce that he has officially resigned from AEW and that he will have fulfilled all his obligations by the end of 2023.

Marshall has been with the company since 2019, joining initially as a wrestler and associate producer, and has since worked AEW in numerous capacities, including being named Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination.

Most recently on AEW/ROH television, QT Marshall had been defending AAA’s Latin American Championship, however he lost the title to Octagon Jr. on November 19th, and has been absent from AEW since.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Marshall had expressed his frustrations recently and that some talent have been aware of his impending departure for months. Additionally, Meltzer noted that Marshall’s goal is to become a star in the industry, and thus, his AEW exit partly came down to a lack of belief in that being possible without a change.

“Some have known (QT Marshall was leaving AEW) for weeks, some have known for months. People have talked to him. He’s expressed his frustrations. There have been things that have happened. One thing with QT, and it’s a big one – QT wants to be a wrestling star. And it wasn’t gonna happen in AEW. I know he expressed frustration to a lot of people about that.”

Marshall’s final AEW in-ring appearance came on October 25th, defeating Brandon Cutler, Colt Cabana, and Lince Dorado in a six-man tag team match with Johnny TV and Aaron Solo.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on QT Marshall’s AEW exit and his next moves as soon as we hear more.
