An ex-AEW name is returning to the company, although we won’t be seeing him back in the ring.

On November 27th last year, QT Marshall announced that he would be resigning from AEW at the end of the year, a move he was initially planning on making in August before signing a short extension to see out the rest of 2023.

It now appears as though his time away from the company will be short-lived, as Fightful Select are reporting that Marshall is returning to the company in a vice president role, although he isn’t planned to be used in an in-ring capacity.

“Fightful has learned that QT Marshall is returning to All Elite Wrestling, but in a much different capacity. Sources indicated to Fightful that Marshall and AEW worked out their prior issues, and he’ll be coming back in the VP role that he once held. However, he is not planned to return as an in-ring talent.”

Per the report, those who spoke to Fightful claimed an agreement was in place as of a couple of weeks ago, although he’s yet to start with the company as of writing.

Additionally, Marshall is believed to be free to wrestle outside of AEW, with the obvious exception of WWE. The 38-year-old has yet to step back into the ring since officially leaving, however he did share his impressive physical transformation on Twitter/X late last month.

On top of his return to AEW, Marshall has also teamed up with Teil Rhodes to revive Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling, a creation of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, with their first show on February 8th featuring Scotty Riggs, Aaron Solo, Glacier, and former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of QT Marshall as soon as we hear more.
