Queen Aminata Says She Didn’t Expect To Win The TBS Championship On October 28 AEW Dynamite

Queen Aminata didn’t expect to win the TBS title when she did, but she’s thrilled to have it.
One week ago, Queen Aminata fought Persphone for the TBS Championship on AEW Dynamite in the main event, and to the surprise of many, she won the belt, getting her first title of any kind in All Elite Wrestling. Now with gold around her waist, the star has looked back on her big title win.
On her YouTube Channel, Aminata revealed her immediate reaction to winning the belt and what it meant to her, discussing how she didn’t think that match would be the one she’d walk out of as the new champion.
“To be honest, I was not expecting to win today. I was expecting to have this match and maybe have another built for the pay-per-view, but I feel like everything happens for a reason. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to win this belt than main eventing Dynamite against Persephone. This is perfect. This is amazing. This is pretty. This is juicy. This is mine. I am your new TBS Champion. I can’t believe I’m saying this. I am a champion in AEW after five years. Five long years of believing in myself, of hard work, of putting extra work in even when nobody is watching.”

Aminata’s journey has been well documented by fans, as she debuted on AEW Dark and then built herself up in places like Ring of Honor, as well as with big feuds, such as when former AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla first debuted in the company. Though an injury side-stepped her momentum, it clearly didn’t stop it, and now she’s the TBS champion.
Her list of accomplishments will soon also include her participation in Blood and Guts, something she had to miss last year due to injury. Aminata was actually a late inclusion in the lineup, joined by the woman she beat to win the TBS Championship last week. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Queen Aminata as soon as we hear more.
