Raquel Rodriguez reportedly almost missed Elimination Chamber.

On the February 19 edition of Raw. Raquel Rodriquez won a last chance battle royal to claim the final place in the Women’s Elimination Chamber. When it came down to it, she was eliminated by Bianca Belair, but later took to social media to reveal that she had to deal with a flare up of her Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.

On this, Dave Melzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that it was ‘touch-and-go’ as to whether Rodriguez would make the Chamber match at all due to her condition. It was noted that she was absent from the practice runs.

“Rodriguez on the trip over had a flare up of her Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, the malady that had kept her out of action for two-and-a-half months and there was a question if they had brought her back too soon. It was serious enough that she was unable to participate in the practice match the women did while in Australia and it was touch-and-go whether she would be in the match.”

Should she have been ruled out of the contest, it’s unclear who WWE would be had step in, but the report notes that Jade Cargill was at one scheduled for the final spot in the Chamber, so it’s possible that they’d have had to revert to the original plan.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Raquel Rodriguez’s condition as soon as we hear more.
