Tama Tonga may be used as a member of The Bloodline.

Shortly after Wrestle Kingdom 18, Tama Tonga announced that he’d be leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling. Then, in a subscriber exclusive on F4WOnline that the 41-year-old was headed to WWE, a move that wasn’t too surprising but still got people talking due to his heritage and family connections to the Samoan dynasty.

Now, to provide an update on WWE’s plans for Tonga, Dave Meltzer has written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he is considered family by Dwayne Johnson, and the idea of Tama playing a part in The Bloodline has, at the very least, been considered.

Tama Tonga is considered part of the “family” by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Roman Reigns, etc., and the idea of him in the Bloodline in some form down the line has been considered.”

As shown by Dwayne Johnson during the WrestleMania 40 press conference, the Samoan family tree is rich with talent and holds a legendary place in wrestling history. It’s likely that WWE will play off Tama Tonga’s roots once they get him on their books.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Tama Tonga’s Bloodline status as soon as we hear more.
