A new update has emerged on the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns is the current undisputed WWE/Universal Champion after claiming the title at this years Wrestlemania and has seemingly been on an unstoppable run for the best part of 2 years now.
However, over the weekend whilst performing at a WWE live show, Roman Reigns addressed the crowd in Trenton, NJ and hinted that he may not be going back there and also that he is entering a “new phase” in life. This of course lead to a bunch of speculation from the wrestling world about whether or not he would be leaving WWE in the near future.
Yesterday before Wrestlemania Backlash, Fightful Select had reported the backstage reaction to the promo by Reigns, stating that sources had told them that he’s still heavily figured into creative plans for the company for the foreseeable future and he’s not expected to leave “any time soon.”. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select also added that another person in the company indicated that they believed Reigns was referencing that eventually his schedule will likely include less house show events.
This has now been backed up by Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, where Meltzer adds that Roman Reigns has actually signed a new deal with WWE:
“Its not it for him. The situation is that he’s got a new deal, and the new deal is for far less dates. I dont know how many house shows hes gonna be doing but it would be much less than the number hes doing now.
Its one of the perks of being there for a while and being valuable there, you can call certain shots and he’s got the power to maintain the championship and work fewer dates.“

Roman Reigns last night was victorious in the main event of Wrestlemania Backlash where the Bloodline defeated RKBro & Drew McIntyre in a six man tag. Reigns pinned Riddle after a spear.
