Former Smackdown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has been absent from WWE TV since dropping the title to the returning Charlotte Flair on the December 30th episode of Smackdown. Rousey had successfully defended the title against Raquel Rodriguez only moments prior, however after an impromptu challenge from ‘The Queen’, Rousey’s reign came to an end in just under a minute.
PWInsider are now reporting that it appears that Rousey is expected to return to WWE imminently, as she’s been spotted in Connecticut ahead of tonight’s episode of Smackdown.
“We have heard from several readers in Connecticut that they’ve spotted Ronda Rousey today, so it would appear she is slated to return to WWE programming tonight.”

Earlier this month, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are locked in to challenge Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai of Damage Control for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 39, and thus its possible that Rousey’s return may kick-start the feud that will lead to that match.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on Ronda Rousey’s WWE return and the general build towards WrestleMania 39 as soon as we hear more.
