Sammy Guevara has reportedly been suspended from AEW.

On the February 16 edition of Rampage, a botched shooting star press from Sammy Guevara meant that his leg connected with the face of Jeff Hardy in an awkward landing. From there, it was clear that things had gone wrong, yet the match continued and Guevara still hit his ‘GTH’ finisher on his concussed opponent to finish the bout.

To provide an update on the situation, Fightful Select are now reporting that Guevara has been suspended off the back of the match with Hardy. It was stated that Sammy seeing out the match should not have happened and that concussion protocol was not followed.

Fightful Select has learned that All Elite Wrestling mainstay Sammy Guevara is now serving a suspension in connection to the February 14 match he had against Jeff Hardy.”

Despite the match happening on February 14 and airing two days later, Guevara has since on Collision in a loss against Powerhouse Hobbs.

At present, is currently no indication as to how long the suspension is set to last, nor is there a timeline for Jeff Hardy’s return to the ring.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Guevara’s suspension and the condition of Jeff Hardy as soon as we hear more.
