Saraya, one of All Elite Wrestling’s newest arrivals took time recently to heap praise onto her former colleague, Sasha Banks for having the courage to leave WWE amidst disheartening feelings of potential misuse.

The former “Boss” is now free from her WWE contract for the first time in numerous years. Although WWE had made attempts to court the former Women’s and Tag Team Champion back to the promotion, negotiations stalled and ultimately the two parties failed to reach a mutual decision.

While currently embroiled in an ongoing feud with Doctor Britt Baker “D.M.D.”, Saraya took time to speak with Alistair McGeorge of Metro.co.uk, where she would pile her praises onto her former co-worker, Mercedes Varnado (FKA Sasha Banks).

“She knows her worth and she knows she wants to be treated a certain way, and she deserves to be treated that way because she’s done a lot for the wrestling business.”

Mercedes has been absent from televised wrestling appearances since May of 2022, as both she and her former tag-team partner Naomi were suspended by WWE for allegedly walking out ahead of the May 16th episode of Raw. Since then, fans have been anticipating her next move, with reports indicating that it won’t be long until she’s back in the ring again.

Saraya admitted whoever is fortunate enough to stand across the ring from her should certainly consider themselves lucky. She then went on to confess that she truly hopes the two can cross paths again.

“Wherever she ends up, I’m gonna be happy for her, and anyone that gets her is gonna be very, very lucky. I just selfishly hope that I get to wrestle her one day.”

Saraya’s comments have no doubt fueled speculation that her mystery tag partner at the upcoming January 11th edition of AEW Dynamite could be no other than the former Sasha Banks herself, with fans across social media hopeful that the timing of reports and comments such as this is more than just a coincidence.

Varnado is reportedly scheduled to appear at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event on January 4th, thus beginning the next phase of her already very successful wrestling tenure. The card will feature KAIRI defending her IWGP Women’s Championship for the first time against Tam Nakano, and thus many expect the former WWE Superstar to challenge for the gold in the aftermath.
