‘The Boss’ Sasha Banks has not been seen in a WWE ring since her infamous May 16 walkout. She left alongside her tag team partner Naomi and subsequently vacated the Women’s Tag Team Championships. It’s unclear when or if the two will return to the company but rumours continue to swirl around their future.
The contract status of both women have been unknown ever since, with many conflicting reports over whether the stars were still with the company. Dave Meltzer, who previously reported that Banks was still under contract with WWE, has given an update on the star’s status. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer revealed that Banks was backstage at a recent WWE event.
“She went to Mexico City last night (Sunday night) where WWE ran at Arena Ciudad, and she was a special guest, but she was not on the show. The fans never saw her, but she was there. I think that is kind of a sign that… you would think that means things are certainly on a pretty good relationship between her and WWE. I don’t know anything updated on the contract, but if it was very tense or anything like that, she (wouldn’t have been) the guest of honor backstage.”

It seems as if Sasha being backstage is an indication that there isn’t much tension between WWE and The Boss. Fans will be hoping to see her back in the company soon after six months of being away.
