An update has emerged regarding Sasha Banks’ contract status.
It’s been five months since we last saw Sasha Banks in WWE. She infamously walked out of the company with her tag partner Naomi on the May 16 episode of Raw, while being the women’s tag team champions. The belts were subsequently vacated and the two have been working on other projects during their time away from wrestling.
You would be forgiven for assuming that Sasha Banks and Naomi were done with WWE following such a dramatic departure. There was rumours that the pair had been given their release but this was never confirmed. Now, Dave Meltzer has clarified the situation in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by stating that Banks remains ‘under contract’ with WWE.
“She is still under contract to WWE but there is no word on when she’ll return as there were said to be hang-ups in negotiations for a new deal.”

It’s still unclear on when the star will return to the company. She has recently teased matches against some top Japanese stars but the contract situation means it’s unlikely that any of these will come to fruition.
