The former WWE Champion looks set to make his return to the ring.
Sheamus last wrestled on the August 18th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, losing to Edge in what would be the Rated-R Superstar’s final match for the company before departing for AEW. Shortly after the bout, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Sheamus was dealing with a serious shoulder injury, although it now appears as though his return is on the horizon.
Per WWE’s official website, Sheamus is listed as one of the featured superstars for the November 24 taping of WWE SmackDown. The card is, of course, subject to change, and doesn’t necessarily mean that the Brawling Brutes leader will feature on that week’s SmackDown, however it is a promising sign that he’s ready to return to action.
Alongside his injury woes, Sheamus has also been in the headlines recently as Fightful Select revealed that his WWE contract is set to expire next year, and thus many fans have begun to speculate whether he’ll be following Edge/Adam Copeland to AEW.
It’ll also be interesting to see whether WWE choose to add additional time to Sheamus’ contract due to the recent injury. As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Sheamus’ potential return to the ring, as well as his ongoing contract negotiations as soon as we hear more.
