Skadi Wins CMLL International Women’s Grand Prix for Team Mexico

Team Mexico has won CMLL’s International Women’s Grand Prix.

Skadi pinned Megan Bayne at the 1:04:09 mark to win this year’s International Women’s Grand Prix for Team Mexico. The second generation luchadora lifted the Megasus up and destroyed her with a devastating Spinning Samoan Drop.

This latest International Women’s Grand Prix was a start studded affair with wrestlers coming from AEW, STARDOM, Maple Leaf Pro, MLW, and RevPro coming to Arena Mexico to take on the brightest stars from CMLL. The ensuing match was an 11 vs. 11 clash, and ended up being the second International Women’s GP to eclipse a full hour.

The biggest contributors for both teams were Persephone for Team Mexico, who eliminated both Mei Seira and Queen Aminata, and also gave the assist to help Olympia eliminate Marina Shafir after she was taken out by the Death Rider.

The biggest contributor for Team World was split three ways between Bayne, Shafir, and Momo Watanabe, who all took out two a piece. Obviously Bayne will come down as the most dominant in the record books because she was the last to be eliminated, but the other two should be noted.

Ever since the International Women’s GP was first introduced in 2021, Team Mexico has been able to beat Team World each time except in 2023 when future Team World member Tessa Blanchard won. The other women who’ve won are Dark Silueta in 2021, Dalys in 2022, Reyna Isis in 2024, and Persephone last year. Now, Skadi, the daughter of fellow CMLL luchadora Marcela, can add her name to the list.
