STARDOM

The 13th Goddess Of Stardom Tag League this past Sunday in the Ota City General Gymnasium. The tournament line-up changed a handful of times over the past couple of weeks due to the injuries of Hayashishita, Natsupoi, and Starlight Kid. The line-up ended up with 14 Tag Teams split into 2 Blocks. Before the first show, AZM & Tam Nakano were pulled from the opening night, which led to the first match of Nakano & Mizumori getting forfeited.

MICHIKO vs. Giulia
Andras Miyagi made her STARDOM return under the name “MICHIKO” where she faced Giulia. MICHIKO changed since her last STARDOM appearance and is now leading her own faction in GLEAT. She and Giulia used to have a little alliance before MICHIKO suddenly left the promotion and Giulia founded DDM.

They had a walk-and-brawl match, with the intensity being high from the start of the match. It didn’t take long until the two landed on the outside and threw each other into the chairs. It got serious when MICHIKO set up a table, which led to a brutal Piledriver from Giulia. Back in the ring, they had a nice back-and-forth, with Giulia even kicking out of MICHIKO’s tombstone. She wins the match with the Nothern Lights Bomb shortly after the 10-minute call.

Crazy Star (Mei Seira & Suzu Suzuki) vs. Prominence (Hiragi Kurumi & Risa Sera) – Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League Red Stars Block
The introduction of the Tag League Participants was over when the Prominence duo attacked Seira & Suzuki and brawled with them into the ring. Their match was set for the co-main event of the show, but after a quick promo exchange, they decided to run the match instantly.

It led to a violent, intense back-and-forth match that kicked ass from start to finish. A 15-minute match with Hiragi Kurumi once again having a fantastic performance inside a STARDOM ring. They had non-stop action that ended with a time-limit draw finish and both teams got 1 Point on their scoreboard. An early highlight in the Tag League that is the must-watch match of this show.

Club Venus (Mina Shirakawa & Waka Tsukiyama) vs. HANAKO & Saya Iida – Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League Red Stars Block
After Mariah May went back to the UK, Shirakawa is now teaming with Tsukiyama in the Tag League, and they are trying to continue the success. Their opponents on the first day were the unlikely duo of HANAKO & Saya Iida. They had a little 7-minute match that gave the Club Venus duo an easy victory and the first two points.

Backstage, Shirakawa & Waka challenged for the New Blood Tag Team Championships, with Shirakawa teasing that the newest Club Venus Member and the Tag Team Partner from Waka is from Thailand.

Divine Kingdom (Maika & Megan Bayne) vs. Ami Sourei & Lady C – Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League Blue Stars Block
This match was a showcase of Maika & Megan Bayne who had a grand entrance with Maika debuting a new gear and a beautiful headpiece that makes her look like a major star.

This match was an extended squash with Ami & Lady C having control in the first minute of the match, but from then it was just Divine Kingdom. They destroyed their opponents and finished Lady C off with the Doomsday Device and an F5 to get the first two points. Based on the first day, Maika & Bayne are the tournament favorites and it will be tough for anyone to beat them.

Oedo Tai (Momo Watanabe & Natsuko Tora) vs. God’s Eye (Saki Kashima & Syuri) – Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League Red Stars Block
Kashima needed to leave Oedo Tai just five months ago, and here she needed to team up with Syuri against her former stable partners Natsuko Tora & Momo Watanabe. It started with a fun bit where Kashima ran away before Syuri brought her back. The match was built around Oedo Tai beating up Kashima, which created a great underdog situation for the God’s Eye Team here. The closing stretch was fantastic, with Saki nearly scoring the upset on numerous occasions, but Watanabe pulled it off and got the win over her former stable partner.

Aliss Ink is challenging Syuri to a UWF Match at Gold Rush. She’s a female Indy Wrestler who is wrestling in smaller promotions in Europe including wXw where she was a former Champion just recently.

STARS (Hazuki & Koguma) vs. STARS (Hanan & Mayu Iwatani) – Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League Blue Stars Block
The Main Event was between the two STARS Tag Teams, with the winners of the 2021 Tag League FWC facing off against Mayu Iwatani & Hanan. It was the first PPV Main Event of the 18-year-old Hanan who stepped up big time in this match and had a great performance. The end result was never in doubt, but Hanan stood out more from this match than in her other matches this year. FWC picked up the victory and their first two points to end up a solid PPV show.
