32 women have been cut down to 12 as STARDOM’s 5★STAR Grand Prix has moved into the knockout round.

Over the next two shows, we will find out who is the strong and the next to challenge for the World of Stardom Championship. How it’ll work is that, on August 18th, the A and B blocks for each colour will combine to make one red and one blue block. Then, the second place wrestler from one of the blocks will take on the third place wrestler from the other. For example, the second place wrestler from Red Stars Block A, Rina, will take on the third place wrestler from Red Stars Block B, Rina Yamashita. It’s a little convoluted, but luckily the graphic STARDOM provided is makes it far more coherent.

After those first four clashes complete, the survivors will challenge one of the four block winners.

That will cut the field from 12 to just four. On August 23rd, the final four will decide the overall 5★STAR Grand Prix winner first in two semi-final matches, and finally the finals.

The opening matches on the 18th will feature the following:

  • Saya Iida (2nd Red Stars B) vs. AZM (3rd Red Stars A)
  • Rina (2nd Red Stars A) vs. Rina Yamashita (3rd Red Stars B)
  • Hanan (2nd Blue Stars B) vs. Ruaka (3rd Red Stars A)
  • Blue Stars B – HANAKO (2nd Blue Stars A) vs. Starlight Kid (3rd Blue Stars B)

After those matches are decided, the following contests will then take place:

  • Iida/AZM vs. Maika
  • Rina/Yamashita vs. Wonder of Stardom Champion, Konami
  • Hanan/Ruaka vs. World of Stardom Champion, Suzu Suzuki
  • SLK/Sourei vs. HANAKO

STARDOM all announced that the August 18th show will air for free on their YouTube channel starting at 5:30 AM and will feature English commentary.
